As of May 30, Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor’s first major U.S. retrospective in 15 years, "Past, Present, Future", can be seen at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. Kapoor is known for creating huge, hyper-smooth shapes; 14 of them are included in the display.

WBUR’s Andrea Shea has gone behind the scenes with Kapoor, ICA curator Nicholas Baume, installer Kellum Scott, and others to discuss the daunting and impressive task of putting on such an exhibition.

Doggie DNA

In Boston, it seems not all dogs are considered equal. After a number of Pit Bull attacks five years ago, the city passed an ordinance that slaps a muzzle on dogs of the breed in public. In the next few weeks, city officials will be re-examining the law to assess its effectiveness.

Here, WBUR’s Monica Brady-Myerov investigates their looking at a new test of dogs’ DNA, called Wisdom Panel, which was introduced late last year and gives the clear genetic identity of a mixed breed dog. Whether it is used or not to assess the dangerousness of individual dogs will have considerable impact not only the lives of the dogs themselves, but on their owners and neighbors as well.
